What is the importance of baby teeth?
There are 20 baby teeth in total. Their primary duty is to enable the child's nutrition; they are also essential for speech development and guide the permanent teeth that will replace them, protecting their space in the jaw.
What are the preventive applications?
Among preventive applications against tooth decay, great importance is given to educating the child and family about oral-dental health and nutrition. Fissure sealants
A flowable filling material that seals the deep, decay-prone fissures (grooves) on the chewing surfaces of permanent teeth, preventing bacteria from reaching them and thereby preventing decay. Fissure sealants should be checked every 6 months.
Fluoride applications
Fluoride is an element that prevents tooth decay and strengthens tooth structure. When teeth first erupt, the enamel is not fully matured, making new teeth more susceptible to decay. Fluoride strengthens the enamel and protects the tooth against acid attacks, preventing cavities.
