What is implant treatment? What are its advantages?
Implant treatment involves artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone to support the prostheses to be attached. These artificial roots replace missing teeth and can be used for many years. They are applied by specialist dentists in sterile conditions.

The greatest advantage of implants is having fixed teeth with almost exactly the same properties as natural teeth in place of the lost ones. Used under proper conditions and applied by specialists, implant teeth can serve for a lifetime.
How is implant treatment applied in İzmir?
Stage 1: Before starting, anesthesia is applied and the area is cleaned. If a tooth needs extraction, it is extracted first. A small incision is made in the gum to expose the bone where the implant will be placed.
Stage 2: A certain period must pass for the implant to integrate with the bone — between 2 and 6 months. This process is very important for the artificial tooth to form a solid foundation.
Stage 3: After the jawbone heals, another procedure may be performed to place the abutment to which the porcelain crown will attach.
Stage 4: Two weeks after the last procedure, a new appointment is made for the porcelain crown, and an impression of the mouth is taken.
Stage 5: The final stage is fitting the porcelain crown. Trials may be done as needed; at their conclusion the artificial tooth is screwed or bonded in place, completing the procedure.

- Implant treatment is not applied to heavy smokers, as smoking delays wound healing.
As an alternative to an implant, a tooth-supported bridge can be applied.
